Our Purpose Statement
To bring the restoring power of Jesus to a hurting world, to equip them for service in
the church and to bring glory to God our Father.
Our Vision
To establish a strong local church to reach Columbus and the surrounding communities
with the Good News and restoring power of Jesus Christ.
Welcome to an overview of Everlasting Love Church!
A charismatic teaching and family center, Everlasting Love Church (ELC) is an affiliate
church of Faith Christian Fellowship International. We believe that God's Word is
the guideline for our services and that God has a plan and a purpose for each and every
service. It is our goal to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit so that the needs
of the people can be fully met; however, we believe as Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 14:30,
"Let all things be done decently and in order." (Ref.??)
Our praise and worship is more than just singing songs and passing the time. It
is best said by David in Psalm 100:1-4, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye
lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we
ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates
with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his
name...".(ref???) We believe these scriptures tell us that our praise and
worship brings us into the presence of God. Not only do we come into His presence
but Psalm 22:3 says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of
Israel." (ref??)
Our beginning!
Everlasting Love Church began with three families in January of 1991 at a home in
Columbus. Services were held whenever Pastor Pat could travel from Tulsa, OK, where
he was attending Rhema Bible Training Center. Following his graduation in May of
1991, we began meeting regularly at the New World Inn. On August 9, 1991, we
started renting our present facility and purchased the property in November of 1992.
In 1993 construction of the present church auditorium began and was completed, in addition
to the remodeling of the rest of our facility, in April of 1995. In November of
1997 we purchased the adjoining lot north of our property and are currently discussing
plans for a new addition.
ELC is a dynamic growing group of caring people who seek to know God better. Habbakkuk 2:2 says,
"And the Lord said to me, 'Write my answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that
anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell others, but these things I plan won't
happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision
will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely
come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day.'"
(Reference ??) God has shown His faithfulness through the years and is truly
bringing the fulfillment of the vision.
